Week 10: Blogging for Business Part 2

For my business I would use the human interest and emotion to my post because I need to convince the business owner that he is making the right decision. My idea would be to show my customer testimonials of business owners who have already marketed and advertised with us and have grown to be successful. By doing this I believe that it will have an emotional effect on the customer. It will show him that other people who have been in the same position that he/she is in made the decision to say yes and have seen results. Not really sure what is meant by what categories I would use to target my audience and how these categories will grow.

Week 10: Blogging For Business Part 1

Adding human interest to a post can definitely appeal to peoples emotions. Studies show that people buy with emotions rather than information. The content of an ad or presentation needs to be able to impact the buyer emotionally for a good effect. I believe it makes sense to add a personal touch to the post if obviously you have experienced something related to the post that the consumer may be interested in. You want o build some sort of connection with the buyer an make your post interesting and not boring. It is not appropriate to add a personal touch to a post if it is something that you have not experienced anything. It might not be right to add a personal touch if it might offend the viewer.

Week 9 Blog Post: Twitter

When I was doing my advanced search I just typed in what I believe my business needed. For example I believe that restaurants will be a key component to my business so I typed in certain categories such as pizza or sushi. I did that for beauty salons and automotive businesses as well because those are also big parts of my business. I did not necessarily have to type in different words to get different results it went by fairly smoothly. I ended up finding "Millimetre Salons, "Thrush and Son" (Home Improvement), "Ichiban Sushi", "Convoy Auto Repair", "Original Pizza Place".

There were two lists that I created for Twitter. I created a potential client list which shows companies that are in the process of linking up with us. This was important because we can see what those businesses need and keep track of what they are doing to focus on their needs. If we can find out this  information we have a better chance of contracting with them. The second list I made was our existing clients. This was also important because we can also keep track of what our existing clients are promoting in order to retain these clients. Creating lists helps us stay organized because a list only shows certain accounts that are in that category so that it will not be hard finding those on a regular search.

I would think that the time people would see my tweets would be in the evening when they get off work rather than the busy hours of the afternoon. I would believe that these tweets are most effective on weekends as well when they do not have work and are on their phone regularly.

Week 8 Post 2: Picture Tell A Story

Visual Media somewhat works for my business because it can show testimonials on how the service we provide works for businesses. It can help in our pitch that we give to owners. As far as getting clients it does not help so much.

Most of the businesses that are related to mine do not use visual platforms too show their business. There are not many businesses that are comparable to Money Mailer because there are only a few competitors out there. Valpak is the most commonly known competitor and it uses Instagram as a visual platform for their business. It has 1,580 followers and for me it is not really that effective for them. They post about every other week or so. On their post they only receive 20 posts per post and a few comments. This is so because just like my business marketing through direct mail and apps/online ds not require much visual platform. Another similar business is a famous one called Groupon. Although it is distinct in the fact hat they do not provide direct mail, they provide various discounts for businesses as well. Groupon is  a huge company that has 279 thousand followers and posts every couple of days. It gets 1-2 thousand likes per post and gets 10-20 comments. I do not believe Instagram is effective for the because they don't even post the discounts that they offer. They just post random pics.

After researching the two competitors that I chose, which were Groupon and Valpak, I have noticed that we all can only do so much to improve our business through pictures. In the case for Instagram I believe that I can take advantage of posts by posting my discounts and deals on there instead of what groupon does.

Week 8 Post 1: Let a Picture Tell A Story

I understand that visual platforms are huge in marketing and helping a business succeed. But for my business I don't think that visual platforms will help that much. The only way I believe it will help is to create video testimonials that show that the service works.

I don't believe that it will work because in my business we look to target business owners to close deals with. We do not necessarily target the broad public.

Week 7 Post 2: Screenshots of Activity

I believe that these posts will help me engage my audience because it shows an example of the different types of ads that a business can use. It shows that our service can help any type of business in the market. Although I was not sure how to make scheduled posts for the future.

Week 7 Post 1: List of Liked Businesses

GNC
FOOTLOCKER
GAMESTOP
CALVIN KLEIN
NIKE
POKI POKI
IN-N-OUT

These are the list of businesses that I chose to like as my page. I chose these businesses because these are the places I usually like to shop at. I have a bigger interest in these places rather than others. I believe that I can use this feature to help grow my business by trying to invite as many people I can to like my page. Also, the more I start to like other businesses the more connections I can make, which is huge for my business because I need businesses to market for in order for my business to succeed.

Week 6 Post 1: Business/Facebook

Post Reach vs Post Engagement

Post reach is defined as how many people have seen your post. This can be when someone has seen your post because of following your page or just because one of their friends has shared your post.

Post Engagement is defined as people who have liked your link, liked your post or have shared your post.

This is important because if someone has just seen your post but does not perform any action on it, its just being revealed to that one person only. In a business, you want your product or service to be spread out and known to as much people as possible. When someone like your post or shares it, it means that the person it giving his or her friends the opportunity to see your post as well.

A business can use Facebook insights to better serve their customers because for one, Facebook is the most popular source of social media in the world. Businesses can use Facebook because Facebook already has a solid grip on how customers use Facebook and their preferences. It would be very intelligent to use the feedback and insights from Facebook to improve it's business and find easier and more efficient ways to serve it's customers.

Week 17: Wrapping it up Final Post

My viewpoint on social media has changed for the fact that social media is now more used on business and advertising. Before when social med...
